Personal Assistant Application
Lost The Plot is looking for a personal assistant/event coordinator to help us with some of our backend admin work.
We’re dedicated to growing our bookish events & pop-ups, and we need your help to make that happen!
If you’re local to the Greater Seattle area (required), in love with books (optional but ideal), love all the behind-the-scenes puzzle pieces of planning events, and have a detail-oriented personality, this may be the right fit!
Here are some of the things we’re looking for help with:
Event Coordination & Assistance: Including creating event banners & promo in Canva, adding events to website & third-party websites, very light project management (copying Asana tasks & adding dates), and coordinating with venues and vendors/authors (when applicable) on behalf of Lost The Plot
Backend Data Management: Including uploading orders into our POS & Airtable inventory management systems
Blind Date With a Book Wrapping: Picking up prepared blind dates & wrapping them before dropping them back off
Community Engagement: Including assistance with Discord moderating & engagement & Withfriends member engagement
Occasional In-Person Event Assistance: For some of our heavier lifting events, we may have you come and help provide assistance that may include checkout assistance & helping with event activities as needed (depending on your availability).
The first two items are the core of what we’re looking for assistance for, with the other three being more occasional/if time allows, depending on your strengths & skills.
This is a contract position, with budget allocated for 5-10 hours per week at ~$25/hr, depending on needs & availability. We’re also happy to discuss a monthly retainer if you prefer.
Here are a few things we’re looking for:
Must be local to the Greater Seattle area (ideally Seattle/North Seattle/Everett based). A lot of this will be work-from-home, but being local is required for some of the occasional needs like blind date wrapping & event assistance.
Ideal Airtable proficiency (recommended but not required; will train on the data management)
Must have some weekend availability with 1-2 months notice
We’re looking for someone who can be friendly & engaging with our venues & vendor contacts, as well as someone who’s detail-oriented and passionate about helping an indie bookstore succeed.
If this sounds up your alley, please fill out the form to the right. If it looks like a potential good fit, we’ll be in touch to schedule a call to get to know you better!
